The Illinois Procurement Code and other laws place special requirements on activities of lobbyists. Following are links to some of the more important requirements.
Procurement Restrictions - The Illinois Procurement Code sets forth certain restrictions on the compensation and activities of lobbyists. These are set forth in Section 50-38 of the Code at 30 ILCS 500/50.
Procurement Communication Reporting - There are also specific requirements set forth by the Code with regard to communications by lobbyists with State employees related to State procurements. There are reporting requirements for both the lobbyist and the State employee as set forth in Section 50-39 of the Code at 30 ILCS 500/50. Ethics Act Requirements - The State Officials and Employees Ethics Act is applicable to all State employees. There are restrictions with regard to many aspects of a State employee's political involvement. Please review the Act in order to become more familiar with the limitations and restrictions placed upon State employees.
